Behold the Amazing Cutlass Ciera International!

As an example of Automotive Engineering excellence, the Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera has few peers. Engineered with space age aerospace components such as:

  • METAL!
  • PLASTIC!
  • CARDBOARD
  • Bolts and nuts
  • Advanced electrical pathways containing an almost pure form of copper

The amount of technology contained within it's cleverly undistinguished metal skin is simply amazing. These Automobiles were carefully assembled using the latest in automated worker replacement machinery and by the finest craftsmen union overtime can buy. Renowned for it's ability to attract the attention of passerby and service business employees equally, The Cutlass Ciera is in a class by itself. Certainly few technical triumphs attained by mankind can equal the impact the Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera has had on our civilization.

Now, exclusively through this offer, you can own an example of this Automotive Classic. The subject of this offering is, in fact, a Cutlass Ciera SL International Edition. Bonded to it's homegrown American roots, the international edition sports the mystique of world adventure with it's carefully applied trim plaque. As an international player, you, the new owner, can dream of far away places and exotic destinations as you serenely drive to the grocery store in this exemplar mode of transportation.

But, before we get carried away on our journey of international intrigue, let's see what one person recently said about this fine automotive conveyance.

Yes, you will will be cruising in high style in this totally clapped out 1990 Cutlass Ciera SL. Sit back in the comfortable and mostly bolted down custom leather seats, as you tune into your favorite radio station with the fabulous AM/FM one speaker stereo sound system. Enjoy the quiet ride as the non-operational, stuck closed, power window blocks those unwanted sounds from outside. You will find great gas mileage and freedom from stop and go traffic because, while it goes, it will not stop. Crank up the exclusive hot air A/C system as you luxuriate in the freshly scented aroma of burning oil. Listen to the power emanating from the powerful V6 engine through the rusted exhaust system. Meet new friends and expand your social circle while filling the leaky tires every day at your local service station. And, when you must leave it in a “not so good” area, take comfort in the state of the art “no one will mess with that piece of crap” security system.

But, seriously. This car needs to be gone from my driveway - soon! It has been parked and not started for nearly three years. It was parked only because of the brakes. I could not and can not afford to repair them. And they are the number one entry in our list of negatives below.

But first, the good parts.

  • It has the Buick 3.3 liter V6, the little brother of the 3.8 liter Buick GN engine. This thing Ran great, and it was in very good running condition when parked. IT has always been maintained properly. At the time it was parked, there were absolutely no issues with the engine or transmission. (Please note, this block is for Front Wheel Drive. It is significantly different from the rear wheel drive version). This motor is actually quite an asset (possibly the ONLY one?).

  • It has a very cool set of American Racing wheels.
  • It has a very nearly brand new fuel pump and radiator.
  • There is absolutely NO damage to the body, and very little rust. All the pieces & parts are there.
  • The leather seats are still in rather good shape.
  • It can not be driven, but it rolls well, which makes it easy to put on a rollback.
  • Everything functions properly except the brakes & drivers window.
  • When cleaned up, it looks "classy". - For a mid size Olds.
  • It is "fun" to drive, and will outrun most wannabe racers at the stoplight if you can keep the wheel spin down.

And now, the Negatives.

  • It needs a COMPLETE brake rebuild. Discs, drums, pads, linings, cylinders and calipers, possibly a master cylinder and a couple of lines. They are totally, 100% shot.
  • It has not been started in over two years. Care will have to be taken on first startup to not damage the engine.
  • One of the driver side seat tracks is broken.
  • The driver side power window works intermittently. This is a wiring problem with the wires going into the door.
  • The clear coat is peeling. And the paint below on the roof and trunklid has started to deteriorate - you know the drill.
  • It needs a new hood release cable.
  • The tires, while new, have sat in the same spot for those 2 plus years and are likely flat spotted and dry rotted.
  • So, there you have it. This would make a great project car. Other than the brakes, it does not need much major work. Even the paint should be salvageable, except maybe the decklid. It does need lots of TLC, and it needs that stupid seat track replaced.
